I don’t know about you, but I am ready for a little fun in the sun!
Even though I live in Miami, I always get excited to go to the beach. I love the smell of the suntan lotion and the sound of the waves.
The summer is also a great time to bring some of the beach into my music therapy sessions. I like to incorporate lots of “beachy” things to create a multi-sensory session that is perferct for the needs of my classes of children with severe/profound intellectual disability and for my classes with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Want the scoop on my “sense~ational” Fun in the Sun Beach session? Want to know how I incororpate these items into my music therapy session?
You’ll find the entire Fun in the Sun session plan in my E-Book, Sensational Songs & Activities: Sensory Based Ideas for Music Therapy.
You’ll get the entire session plan complete with activity ideas, instructions for implementation, a list of items to use, AND sheet music! The session incororpates items that provide tactile, auditory, visual, gustatory, AND olfactory stimulation.
Tune up your uke, grab some mangoes, and get ready for some fun in the sun!
