It’s official! In one month I’m getting married!
The date seems to have snuck up on Steve and I, and we laugh because now our talks at dinner are all about tuxedos and bow ties, cake toppers, and mini desserts.
Here is where I need your help.
We want to have the most rockin’, swingin’, must-get- out-of-your-seat-and-boogie reception. We’ve been attempting to come up with a song list for the DJ and have been more than a little stuck. What are the MUST-PLAY songs that we must have at our wedding reception? Leave a comment below to let us know!
(I promise to be back next week with some music therapy goodies for ya!)
You are so smart to ask music therapists about this! My husband and I are the youngest ones in our family so our reception playlist had some ‘older’ songs (which is quite considerate if you ask me ;) ). Anyway, those songs included: You Make Me Wanna Shout!, Locomotion, Electric Slide, Chicken Dance, Old Time Rock and Roll, The Twist, & Cha Cha Slide. The Macarena was played at my nephews request… this isn’t one of my favorites (that’s why it wasn’t on my list) but I was really surprised to see a lot of people get up and dance. So, it turned out be ok anyway.
Yes to ALL of those!!
This is a fabulous idea. The one that comes to the top of my head first is the cupid shuffle. It’s a party favorite. Now where I work so is the wobble song, but I’m not sure I recommend it for the wedding reception haha.
I am all about the Cupid Shuffle! My hubs-to-be? Not so much. I think it’s a great way to get everyone on the dance floor because it’s already choreographed!
