Stephanie Epstein, MM, MT-BC
Board Certified Music Therapist and Guitar, Voice, & Drum Set Teacher
I’m Stephanie and I am the music therapist at Holtz Children’s Hospital and the Jackson Pediatric Center (UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital) in Miami, FL. At Holtz, I work with patients from birth to 21 years of age, populations including hematology/oncology, pediatric intensive care (PICU), transplant/surgical, bone marrow transplant, adolescent, and general pediatrics. At the Jackson Pediatric Center, I work with children with advanced medical complications in a day center-type setting.
I received my Masters of Music Therapy from the University of Miami in December 2014. During my time at the U, I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supervising music therapy undergraduates in their practicum placements and also teaching the Introduction to Music Therapy course.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and Music Education from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. In addition to my board certification in music therapy, I am also certified in teaching general and choral music from kindergarten to 12th grade.
I completed my clinical internship at Golisano Children’s Hospital (part of Strong Memorial Hospital) in Rochester, NY. I then worked in the Monroe #1 BOCES school district as a long-term substitute music therapist with individuals and groups with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
I play the guitar, piano, flute, and ukulele, and sing everything from classical opera to country and pop.
