I’m Leila Johnson, a music therapist. I received my Bachelor of Music degree in music therapy with a minor in psychology from the University of Miami. My studies focused on the implementation of Neurologic Music Therapy techniques.
I completed my clinical internship at United Community Options, managing the planning and execution of music therapy sessions for children birth – age 2, as well as with the Transitional Learning Academy (middle and high school age students).
I’m trained in classroom management, childcare, and interdisciplinary care with teachers and therapists.
I also have a performance background in piano, which I’ve studied since the age of 7. I provide piano lessons via Zoom to students ages 5-7 in New York City, my hometown. And, I teach private lessons for both neurotypical and neurodiverse students through the Frost Preparatory Program.
