Gabriela Ocon is a passionate music therapist and clinical teaching assistant at the University of Miami’s Music Therapy Department. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Music Therapy.
A proud Miami native, Gabriela has developed a diverse skill set through her work in private practice, hospitals, school settings, and treatment facilities. Her experience includes providing individual and group music therapy to children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down syndrome, as well as supporting clients with mental health needs.
Gabriela’s approach is grounded in the belief that music can be a powerful tool for healing, growth, and connection. She has led expressive arts programs, collaborated in interdisciplinary teams, and facilitated music-based interventions tailored to communication, emotional expression, and social development.
Her commitment to helping others thrive through music continues to shape her work with youth and families across clinical and educational settings.
