I had a 100 year old resident who, following a 1:1 session said to me, “Do you know why I like music?” when I asked why she said, “Music is my old friend and it never leaves me lonely.” Then a few minutes later she again said, “Do you know why I like music?” So I told her no, tell me why, to which she responded, “The music gives my life purpose.”

A second resident would belt out Your Cheating Heart every time I played it and a big smile would come across his face and when the song was over he’s laugh and tap his chest and say, “Makes the ticker go.”

The kids complained when they saw it, but but by the time I had finished playing, the ones who gave me the hardest time didn’t want me to stop! :)
