It’s March already?!

I feel like I say that every month, but this month I really cannot believe it!

Here at Wholesome Harmonies we are keeping busy!

Allison’s schedule is filling up quickly with music therapy sessions and music lessons and we had a fantastic time co-facilitating music therapy sessions at Beyond the Spectrum Autism Family Day at University of Miami.

I am busy facilitating Toddler Rock sessions and Rockin’ and Readin’ sessions at various Miami-Dade County Public Library branches with another one of our awesome team members, Yank’l.

I’m also busy coming up with ideas for my upcoming sessions around the theme of St. Patrick’s Day.

This holiday is always a fun one to plan for…leprechauns, rainbows, and gold and green galore!

In today’s post I want to share with you some St. Paddy’s Day music therapy session ideas for your tween and teen groups.

I work with tweens and teens who have autism and other special needs, so these musical experiences specifically target attention, motor, communication and social goals.

Check ’em out here:

St. Patrick’s Day Session Ideas…including a musical game “Irish…or not Irish?” and how we ‘play a rainbow.’

MORE St. Paddy’s Day Session Ideas…including an Irish jig, a find the leprechaun game, and a relaxation experience.

I hope these ideas work well for you!

I’ll be implementing many of them this weekend during my tween and teen sessions at Friendship Circle of Miami.

If you want even MORE creative ideas for engaging tweens and teens during music therapy, you need to check out the Tuneful Teens E-Book series here…
