Monday was the first day back to school for my preschoolers at UCP’s Early Beginnings Academy. It’s an exciting time because the children get to see old friends, teachers, and therapists. But there are also a lot of new changes. Many of the children have moved into a new classroom and some of the children are brand new to our school.
So, one of the first things we addressed in my music therapy sessions on Monday was….learning everyone’s name (including teachers and therapists). Here is a song I wrote about 20 minutes before my first group (there’s nothing like the last minute!) to address this goal…
It’s the first day of school now here we go.

What’s your name? What’s your name?
“My name is Amy. My name is Amy.”
